About TradeMind
TradeMind is a quant trading interview prep tool — free browser simulators here, plus a companion iOS/macOS app. This page covers what it actually is, how the practice questions get built, and who to contact if something looks wrong.
What TradeMind is
TradeMind helps people prepare for the online assessments and interviews that quant trading and prop trading firms run — mental math speed tests, number-sequence and probability drills, EV-judgment games, and full multi-section online-assessment simulations. It exists in two forms: this website, which is free and runs entirely in your browser with no signup, and TradeMind: Quant Math Prep on the App Store, which adds daily-fresh question sets, progress tracking, and all firm-style practice routes. See all free tests or the pricing breakdown for how the two fit together.
How the questions are generated
Nothing on TradeMind is scraped or copied from an official, live, or confidential firm assessment. Every question — from the 80-in-8 mental math format to the CTC-style numerical/spatial/verbal/logic mix — is produced by a question generator: code that assembles a fresh question from a template family, computes the correct answer directly (rather than a human transcribing one), and builds plausible wrong options. The web generators are direct TypeScript ports of the same generators used in the iOS/macOS app, so the format, timing, and scoring rules match across both.
That generation logic is checked by an automated verification script that runs each generator at volume and asserts the properties that actually matter: no duplicate answer options, valid answer indices, attention-to-detail questions whose stated match count agrees with their own prompt, and spatial-reasoning distractors that aren't visually identical to the correct answer once rotational symmetry is accounted for. It has caught real bugs before shipping — including rotation-pattern questions whose distractors rendered identically to the answer for certain side/step combinations. This is a mechanism for catching mistakes, not a claim that the questions are error-proof; if something looks wrong, the fastest way to get it fixed is to email us (see below).
What TradeMind is not
It's not a leaked or licensed copy of any firm's real test, and it's not built or reviewed by anyone at Optiver, CTC, or any other firm named on this site. Firm names are used only to describe the publicly reported style of a given format — timing, scoring, and question mix — because that's how candidates actually search for and talk about this kind of practice. Firms don't publish official pass marks, and neither does TradeMind; a displayed number is labelled by its provenance. For example: Candidate-reported practice benchmark: ~60 net — not an official cutoff.
Who's behind it
TradeMind is built and run by a small independent team, not a large test-prep company — operating as "TradeMind Team" on the App Store and in the Privacy Policy. The web tools on trademindapp.com are maintained alongside the iOS/macOS app as one product. If you run a university trading or quant society, see the Partners page for free access for your members.

FAQ
Who makes TradeMind?
TradeMind is built and maintained by a small independent team (operating as "TradeMind Team"), not a large test-prep company. The web practice tools you're using now are a free companion to the TradeMind: Quant Math Prep app on iOS and macOS.
Are the practice questions real firm exam questions?
No. Every question is procedurally generated by code, not copied or scraped from a real assessment. Question archetypes are modeled on publicly reported formats (candidate write-ups, forum posts, firm careers pages), but the specific numbers, wording, and answer options are generated fresh — nothing here reproduces actual exam content.
Is TradeMind affiliated with Optiver, CTC, or any other firm?
No. TradeMind is an independent training tool and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Optiver, Chicago Trading Company, Akuna Capital, Flow Traders, Susquehanna (SIG), Maven Securities, Jane Street, Two Sigma, Citadel, D.E. Shaw, or any other firm named on this site. Firm names describe the style of assessment being practiced, nothing more.
What data does TradeMind collect?
The web tests run entirely in your browser — no account, no signup, no data leaves the page. The iOS/macOS app doesn't require an account for its core features either; see the full Privacy Policy for exactly what's stored locally versus synced through Apple's iCloud.
How do I contact TradeMind?
Use the contact form, or email trademinddeveloperteam@gmail.com directly — that's the same address used for partnership requests and general questions.
